He has been a practicing Licensed Practical Nurse since 2014, with experience working in long-term care and home care. Dale enjoys taking care of people and helping them reach their individual health care goals in her nursing practice. Working in different healthcare settings, he recognized that there is a huge need for accessible foot care services in our community.
It seems that when it comes to health and wellness, many forget about feet. Seeing the need for medical foot care, Dale had the opportunity to continue his education in advanced foot care. He took a foot care course through PedEd called "Advanced Footcare for Nurses,” where he was able to understand the following:
· Policies and procedures for sterilization of equipment
· Best practice for routine foot care
· Diabetic foot care (monofilament and tuning fork assessment)
· Prevention/maintenance of common foot problems such as thicken/fugal nails and corns/calluses
Dale has been applying skills learned through the course as well as continuing with education and best practices through the Lower Mainland Footcare Association, Canadian Association of Footcare Nurses and Member of Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of British Columbia. He is passionate about providing footcare and wants to succeed in this profession with quality work and perseverance
